Amrish is a Patent Attorney and practice lead for the pharma and chemistry patent practice of the firm. He specializes in handling contentious matters, prosecution and dispute resolution in the areas of Patent and Biological diversity laws. He is involved in the drafting and prosecution of patents in the areas of pharmaceuticals, bio-pharmaceuticals, medical diagnostics, therapeutics, nanotechnology, organic chemistry, polymers, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology and biotechnology.
He renders opinions on the validity and enforcement of patents, freedom to operate, infringement analysis and assists clients with due diligence, technology transfer and licensing apart from managing patent portfolios.
He regularly appears before the Indian Patent Office, the Intellectual Property Appellate Board and various Courts including the High Court of Delhi as well as the Supreme Court of India in connection with prosecution and enforcement of patent rights.
Amrish is a member of the IPR Committee of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and National Committee on Pharmaceuticals of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the leading industry bodies in India. In addition, he is a council member of the executive committee of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Delhi Branch for 2020-2022.
He is a regular speaker at various conferences and seminars. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Amrish had worked with a renowned clinical research organization.
